First things first, my name is Gabrielle, and I would love to keep in touch with you! You can follow me on social media but to make sure you stay up to date be sure to sign up for the weekly newsletter!
My story really begins the year I was born in the late 80’s. However, we are going to fast forward to the year I met my husband, David, 2008. We both had signed up to take a CADD (computer aided design and drafting) class. The class had maybe a total of 3 girls in it and him and I just hit it off. From the time I can remember I have ALWAYS wanted to be a wife and mother. So, When I met David, it was a whirlwind. We met, started dating, got engaged, I moved to be closer to him, got pregnant, and married all within a year!

After David and Gabrielle got married…
Things still didn’t slow down at all. My Dad ended up in a tractor accident that took his life just 3 months after our wedding. We moved in with my mom and 2 younger siblings to try and help make things easier on her and also save up to buy our own place. I had our first daughter 2 months later. When she was 9 months old, and still living with my mom, I found out I was pregnant again.
When I had our second daughter, we decided that it was time to move forward with getting our own house. Our oldest was 2 when we moved to the house we bought. About a month after moving in I found out we were again going to be expecting another child. We had our son 2 months before our oldest turned 3. We worked so hard to make this place our home even though we knew that it was not our “forever” home. The house was on .3 acres, and we had a couple fruit trees that had lacked care for many years before us.
We lived in this house for just under 2 years. My mom decided that she wanted to move to be not so out in the country. She offered to let David and I take over the house my dad had built. After some convincing David agreed to leave the house, we had worked so hard on to move again. Our son was about 6 months old when we moved over there, and my mom moved out. We now had 5 acres, a much larger house.
What happened next?
When I stopped breastfeeding our son and tried to introduce cow milk, he reacted poorly. I went in search of options that would work for him! I found out that people who react to cow dairy might be okay with goat dairy, so I found a source and bought some for him to try. He didn’t react to the goat milk! We were so excited that we could still have a dairy in our house and didn’t have to switch to dairy free (*man plans and God laughs, foreshadowing here*). This is where our vision started to change from just having a nice home with a little hobby garden to more what is now referred to as homesteading. I can’t wait to share with you all I’ve learned along my path! David asked me, “Gabrielle, are you ready for this?”
